The Butler County Historical Society is collecting and preserving the experiences of Butler County’s communities with the Coronavirus Pandemic. When we examine the Influenza Epidemic of 1918 we find a plethora of medical records, but few glimpses into what the crisis meant on a personal level. This project, titled COVID-19: Butler’s Story, will allow future generations of Butler residents the opportunity to examine the daily activities, thoughts, and hardships the Pandemic has brought. Tell us your story by filling out the form below, sharing digital content, or donating physical materials that best represent your experiences with COVID-19.  

Physical Items to Donate

The Butler County Historical Society is actively collecting materials specific to the impact of COVID-19 in Butler County. These materials may range from unused homemade cloth masks, business signage, modified take-out menus, grocery lists, artwork created during quarantine, signage from hospitals/medical centers, letters or other physical correspondence such as diaries or journals, etc.

Digital Content to Contribute

In addition to physical items, the BCHS will be collecting digital content that best represents the impact of COVID-19 in Butler County. This content may include personal stories or reflections, social media posts, website URL’s, digital images (empty grocery stores, getting a COVID test, quarantining at home, etc.), correspondence (emails, texts, etc.), and video or audio recordings regarding daily life during the Pandemic, contracting COVID-19, quarantining, etc.
